Carestream Dental HIPAA 5010 Electronic Transaction Compliance Statement

The HIPAA 5010 format is a new set of standards that regulate the electronic transmission of specific healthcare transactions, including electronic claim submission. Covered entities, such as healthcare providers, insurance companies and clearinghouses are required to conform to the new HIPAA 5010 standards.

Carestream Dental is aware of the March 31st 2012 deadline for enforcement of the new HIPAA 5010 electronic transaction format and is actively working with the industry to meet this challenge. Clients using Carestream Dental products and submitting to a Carestream Dental supported electronic transaction processor will have their claims upgraded to a 5010 compliant format when applicable and transmitted to the payer. For payers who are not yet ready for the 5010 format, Carestream Dental is currently testing and expects to meet full compliance within the allotted timeframe.
