Sensei Cloud Highlights January 2021

Happy New Year from us all at Carestream Dental, Sensei Cloud updates continue to expand core application functionality and deliver on recent customer requests.

Here are some of the highlights, refer to the full release information on the Exchange.

The pandemic has seen an increase in the need to transfer our communications to a digital format, not excluding dentistry.  The move to a cloud-based practice management software has facilitated streamlined control for dentists who want to stay in touch with their business and team – keeping them efficient during closed periods and supporting working from home when getting to the practice is just not possible.

Introducing Teledentistry – Keeping you connected with your patients.
What is teledentistry?  Joining other remote computer-based ‘tele’ categories such as telework or telehealth, teledentistry is “the remote facilitating of dental treatment, guidance and education via the use of information technology instead of direct face-to-face contact with patients.”

Phone calls and emails are commonly used in dentistry, teledentistry takes this a step further by allowing a face-to-face virtual consultation with a patient, instead of a live practice visit.  If a patient contacts you, they generally have a concern that they want advice on, or they want a general health assessment to prevent problems.

Dentists also can use teledentistry as a visual method for checking on patients post treatment – especially when a more complex procedure has been carried out.

Support for successful conduction of teledentistry appointments is now available for all Sensei Cloud customers.  We offer a fully Integrated solution utilising Microsoft Teams TM which is easy to use and has no cost impact for the patient.  This new feature enables you to conduct secure, remote patient consultations directly from the Sensei Cloud scheduler – sharing direct links to online calls from your appointment notifications making this a slick process for all involved.

Efficiencies have been made to the appointment diary to support the association of a chair with a specific provider, allowing you to reflect the provider’s working hours in the schedule day view.  In practices where providers consistently work in specific surgeries, this change facilitates more comprehensive reflection of the working patterns for a specific surgery.

The Schedule Day View has been enhanced to include new metrics on the number of scheduled appointments for a day, including the breakdown of appointment statuses.
