Automated implant placement on maxillary arch
CBCT scans and digital impressions  are automatically merged to create a precise virtual model. Scans from third-party intraoral scanners (including 3Disc, Dexis™, iTero™ and Medit™) can be integrated seamlessly and merged with Carestream Dental’s CBCT scans.

Premium feature
Automated virtual crown and implant placement
Select the implant from our implant library of over 110 implant manufacturers. The virtual crown, implant dimensions and virtual implant placement are automatically calculated. The initial proposal can be adjusted manually by the practitioner.

Standard feature
New window for 360° rotation around a virtual implant
After placing an implant, the user can verify its position and surrounding anatomical structures by rotating views around the implant on three MPR axes.

To activate this feature, click on icon in the implant toolbox.

A new window opens. Users can rotate views at 360° around the virtual implant.

Standard feature
Automatic cross sections flip based on sagittal plan and volume laterality
Cross sections on curve tab are now displayed in buccal-lingual and lingual-buccal orientation depending on sagittal plan position on a full arch volume.
On focused FOVs, cross sections are displayed following the same behavior depending on the lateral position of the FOV.
Note:
A preference was added for those who would like to continue to use the previous behavior in cross section orientation:
In Preferences, go to and uncheck "automatically flip cross sections."

Miscellaneous improvements:
  • Promotion of Premium features during the trial period:
    • During the trial feature, the "Premium" features are highlighted with a crown icon to promote the use of premium features
  • Crown and implant placement buttons keep the user’s last-selected choice:
    • The last-selected mode “Manual” or “automated by AI” for crown / implant placement will be the default when reviewing the next volume. (prior version = AI was always the default)
