PRESS RELEASE: Advanced Digital Solutions from Carestream Dental Now Available at the Kois Center

ATLANTA—Carestream Dental is proud to announce the installation of several of its most valuable digital solutions at the prestigious Kois Center in Seattle, Wash. Among the technology the Center can now provide its students is the CS 9300 system, RVG 6200 sensors and CS 1500 intraoral cameras.

The Kois Center offers a clinical program made up of nine scientific, comprehensive courses focusing on esthetics, implant and restorative dentistry. The Center prides itself on providing its students with the latest technology to enhance the learning environment, such as computer animation, live video demonstrations and, of course, a high-tech dental office and laboratory experience.

“Technologies that provide better diagnostic metrics allow clinicians to move towards ‘precision medicine,’ which will create a more predictable dental health care model,” Dean E. Kois, D.M.D., M.S.D., said.

“It’s vital that oral health care professionals have the opportunity to work hands-on with the latest technology,” Ed Shellard, D.M.D., vice president of sales and marketing, Carestream Dental, said. “The Kois Center and Carestream Dental are giving practitioners the tools to more accurately diagnose and treat patients, while also enhancing doctor/patient communication.”

The 3D imaging offered by the CS 9300 allows students to view patient anatomy like never before. Through cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), practitioners can uncover critical information that cannot be detected when relying solely upon 2D imaging. Not only that, the 3D images captured by the CS 9300 improve patient education and communication, as they are more likely to comprehend their diagnosis when the clinician points out issues using a realistic 3D image rather than a 2D image.

The RVG 6200s produce images with a very high resolution, so students are better able to diagnose problems, plan treatments and explain diagnoses to their patients. To streamline workflow and save chair time, the digital intraoral sensors are always armed, always ready to capture an image—simply position, expose, view. Plus, the sensors are designed with durability in mind and can withstand the drops, bites, etc., that occur in a busy clinical setting.

Both the CS 9300 and RVG 6200 sensors come equipped with the CS Adapt module. In order to increase diagnostic confidence, the module allows clinicians to hone in on their preferred look and feel for viewing a digital radiograph. High contrast, smooth or even if they’re accustomed to film—there’s a filter to fit students’ and their future patients’ clinical needs.

Intraoral cameras are a simple tool yet play a huge role in doctor/patient communication. With the CS 1500, clinicians learn how showing, not just telling, can make all the difference when presenting a case to a patient. The camera’s autofocus function means there’s no need to make manual adjustments, while sharp, clear visuals ensure patients immediately understand their options.
