PRESS RELEASE: Carestream Dental Supports Continuing Education at AAE Annual Session

To raise awareness, address concerns and give hands-on experience to doctors considering introducing CBCT into their practices, Carestream Dental is supporting several educational sessions at the AAE Annual Session, opening today in New Orleans, La.

Carestream Dental’s national director of 3D imaging, Jordan Reiss, will lead two workshops on CBCT on Wednesday, April 26—one in the morning and one in the late afternoon. The interactive program provides advanced training on Carestream Dental’s CS 3D Imaging software. Reiss will review detailed information on working with high-resolution 3D data sets and provide advanced instruction on software tools and functions to improve attendees’ performance in navigating 3D volumes and provide a systematized way to view 3D scans.

“Carestream Dental puts a strong emphasis on education when it comes to CBCT,” Reiss said. “I highly value opportunities such as these to meet one-on-one with endodontists and answer their questions, but this kind of training doesn’t end with the Annual Session. Not only does Carestream Dental make it a priority to host workshops throughout the year and across the country, but it also provides access to free webinars and an online video library of tips and tricks and how-tos.”

Carestream Dental is also a proud Platinum sponsor of a To the Point Lecture on the exhibit hall floor on Wednesday. Cameron Howard, D.M.D., will present “Cone Beam CT Usage in Endodontics: Using 3D To Solve 2D Questions" and provide clinical examples of how CBCT can be applied to endodontics, such as diagnosing unusual dental/facial anatomy, non-odontogenic pathoses, iatrogenic mishaps, sinus issues, root fractures and internal/external resorption. He will also review how CBCT aids in treatment planning and surgery prep. As Howard puts it, “CBCT is the next quantum-leap of endodontic technology.”

Additionally, Carestream Dental is supporting other educational events throughout the Annual Sessions. The company has donated RVG 6200 intraoral sensors to the “Mandibular Molar Microsurgical Workshop,” so participants can review the outcomes of the workshop; in the “CBCT Interpretation: Case Evaluation and Diagnosis Workshop,” Carestream Dental CS 3D Imaging software will be used to systematically review 3D volumes; and in “Evaluating CBCT Systems and Software: A Hands-On Workshop,” the benefits of CS 3D Imaging software will be analyzed.

“CBCT is a sophisticated technology that I believe every endodontist should be using,” Reiss said. “However, even the most advanced systems won’t benefit doctors, or patients, if not used properly; training ensures that CBCT is being used to its greatest advantage.”
