Technology Powered by the Human Touch

Digital Makes You More Human

From more accurate diagnoses and better outcomes to faster, more comfortable care, practitioners and patients are seeing the benefits of digital dentistry. Rather than making treatment cold and mechanical, advanced technology humanizes care. Practitioners can make better decisions based on data and showcase potential treatment plans using a patient’s own 3D images. This is highlighted in this edition of the Digital Dentist with cases from Drs. Lerner, Faust, Chojnowski and Foucart.

When a patient who was missing her lateral incisors was having esthetic concerns, Dr. Lerner started her on the path to implants. Over the course of several years, Dr. Lerner laid the foundation for a successful treatment. When it was time to place the implants, digital planning gave Dr. Lerner confidence in her placement, and the results restored the patient's confidence.

Sharp Scans Reveal Pathology with Advanced Algorithms
A patient presented with mysterious swelling, but no pain. A multi-modality CBCT system allowed Dr. Faust to capture a panoramic image that revealed multiple coronal and apical pathological findings thanks to Tomosharp technology. Fortunately, CS MAR helped him look past the many metal artifacts and focus on diagnosing and removing a polycystic ameloblastoma.

Help Your Patients See the Future
A picture is worth a thousand words, and when it comes to case presentation a picture of what a patient’s future smile could look like might mean the difference between accepting or rejecting treatment. Dr. Chojnowski uses software, including CS Model+, to help his patients visualize their treatment and imagine the outcome before they even begin.

In-House Aligners Provide Discreet Treatment for Young Adult
Treatment compliance is easier when a patient is being overseen by their parents. But when the brackets come off and the patient grows older, it's not uncommon for them to stop wearing their retainers. That's the case of a young woman who was no longer wearing her retention appliances and wanted to correct her minor maxillary relapse. Fortunately, clear aligners were the right fit for this young adult looking for discreet treatment.
