CS 3500 Intraoral Scans Now Accepted by ClearCorrect to Create Clear Aligners

Scans captured by Carestream Dental’s CS 3500 intraoral scanner are now being accepted by ClearCorrect for use in creating clear orthodontic aligner systems for patients. The announcement comes during the American Association of Orthodontists’ 2014 Annual Session, April 25-29, New Orleans, La.

“The CS 3500 intraoral scanner is the perfect tool for creating digital impressions,” said Joe Andrasko, product line manager, digital imaging and CS Solutions, for Carestream Dental. “It’s all about achieving accurate results, of the highest quality, in the least amount of time to benefit doctor and patient alike. Together, the CS 3500 and ClearCorrect do just that.”

The clear aligners, an alternative to metal braces, are created based on 3D models of patients’ teeth. The CS 3500, which requires no external heater, powder or trolley system, enables clinicians to easily capture true-color 2D and 3D images using high-angulation scanning of up to 45 degrees and to a depth of -2 to +13 mm. Orthodontic practices using CS 3500 scans to create aligners for their patients benefit in that all-digital cases can be completed faster since there are no delays for shipping.

“Now that our providers can submit cases to us using the CS3500 intraoral scanner, it gives them yet another great option to go digital,” said Anthony Penketh, chief marketing officer for ClearCorrect.

ClearCorrect was created by dentists to serve the dental and orthodontic industry by providing a superior clear aligner system for patients. With cutting-edge technological advances combined with treatment expertise, the highly sophisticated ClearCorrect treatment delivery system and aligner products have years of research and clinical experience behind them.
