Carestream Dental RVG Sensors Provide Elevated Level of Care in Latin America

Dr. Jerry Albrecht is changing the lives of Latin America’s poorest inhabitants. By working with the Washington Overseas Mission, which seeks to improve the health and quality of life of the people of Honduras, he is able to take his years of expertise and the latest dental technology to the people who need it most.

In fact, Dr. Albrecht has taken nearly 20 trips to Latin America to provide professional dental care. He and his wife Marcia, who has traveled with him on every mission trip and manages dental triage, recently returned from their 17^th trip to Honduras. They’ve also provided dental care in Peru and Venezuela.

“Our main focus is to provide the best possible care we can in a compassionate, professional and respectful manner,” Dr. Albrecht said. “I am very proud to say that our group continues to maintain these standards with every trip.”

Dr. Albrecht is able to provide that excellent care thanks in part to his RVG intraoral digital imaging sensors from Carestream Dental. The sensors allow the doctor and his team to diagnose and treat patients more efficiently than in the past. For years, extractions were the only treatment option, but with the RVG sensor, Dr. Albrecht can determine if restorative work is possible.

“We mainly do restorative for younger people involving upper anterior teeth,” he said. “The difference between restoring badly decayed front teeth as opposed to extracting them is truly a joy.”

The RVG sensor offers excellent image resolution, and the size 2 sensor is perfect for bitewing radiographs. Featuring rounded sensor corners and a rear-entry cable, the sensor can be positioned quickly and easily, thus improving patient care and comfort.

Though Dr. Albrecht retired from his practice in St. Louis, Mo., in 2013, he still uses his skill and cutting-edge equipment to bring smiles to the faces of people around the world.
