Orthodontists and staff can learn how to better use their practice management software during two half-day CS OrthoTrac sessions held at OrthoVOICE® in Las Vegas, N.V. The educational sessions will not only provide an overview of the longest running practice management software for orthodontists, but also highlight new features and modules and cover how to improve clinical use through integration with imaging software.

Having that 3D technology and knowing exactly what we needed to be able to get the patient to where she wanted to go, that’s really what we uncovered. We were able to graft exactly where we needed to, take another CBCT scan, virtually plan the implants and give her the result that we wanted. Immediately, you could see her just light up. It was so rewarding.

Dr. Andrews’ orthodontic practice had a problem. After nearly 40 years of taking traditional impressions, there simply was not enough room to store its patients’ stone models. “We were starting to run out of physical storage for the stone models,” Dr. Andrews said. “We had to make more room. We were potentially going to have to use offsite storage or start destroying the models, and that’s just an extra expense.”

Treating skeletal mandibular deficiency in growing patients is complex for both patient and clinician. Far more important than aesthetics, if left untreated an overbite can lead to issues with the temporomandibular joints or sleep apnea. Careful timing of treatment and appliance removal is key to ensuring a successful outcome.

While digital intraoral sensors and cone beam computed tomography units tend to be the stars of the operatory, it’s dental practice management software (DPMS) that keeps an office running smoothly. Though Sue Smith, practice administrator, Levine, Lipnick & Giglio, Albany, N.Y., was happy with the functionality of her office’s CS PracticeWorks practice management software, the onsite server that maintained the software was another story.
